Senegal, the land of Teranga (or hospitality), is a country situated on the African continent's westernmost point. The west side of this nation faces the Atlantic Ocean, while countries surrounding Senegal are Mauritania (North), Mali (East), Guinea & Guinea-Bissau (South). Interestingly, The Gambia is almost entirely enveloped by Senegal, except for its short Atlantic coastline. 
 

The country enjoys a tropical climate, which makes it a popular tourist destination. From the bustling streets of Dakar to the characteristic charm of St-Louis, to the lush greeneries of the Casamance region, Senegal has a landscape for every kind of tourist. There are over 30 distinct languages spoken in the hospitality land, with French recognized as the official language and Wolof considered the lingua franca.
